About Pinder Chauhan

I am a strong believer that local communities need a strong local voice and deserve a person with a wide range of lived experiences in order to be represented well in Government. It is best done from the ground up, person by person and street by street. I bring with me a wealth of experience in my role as a Councillor and experienced board member, sitting on various charity boards.

I regularly meet with voluntary organisations and charities, faith communities, and businesses in the area too, to listen to the views of as many people as possible – I want to hear your views on how we can make West Hunsbury, East Hunsbury, Collingtree Village and Collingtree Park an even better place to live, work and study.

Having worked in the early year's sector and now in the Higher education sector, I am passionate about supporting families and young people with better outcomes, no matter what start they have had in life. As someone who regularly works with small businesses alongside global organisations, I know that businesses are the backbone of our Country.

On a personal note, I experienced homelessness during my teenage years; this left a huge impact on me personally.  I understand that access to good jobs and education can change someone’s life, as it did mine. This is why I work hard as your local Councillor to ensure that the young people living in this area have the best opportunities to progress through education and jobs. As a parent of a teenage son and a younger child, I understand the challenges that parents experience juggling work and family and in some instances, Neurodiversity needs of their children too. This is an area that I am passionate about and would like to influence with West Northants Council to give our children the best opportunities and start to life.

I studied for my MBA in Senior Leadership and Management whilst managing children and a career. I know what it is like to juggle work and family.

In May 2025 we have the local elections across Northamptonshire - I want to continue to serve local communities and residents.

I will champion improvements in healthcare and family services, supporting businesses and building sustainable transport infrastructure, throughout the constituency, and increasing environmentally sustainable practices through planning processes that developers and support communities with more funding and protection from flooding.

Yours Sincerely,

Pinder Chauhan
