Thank you to the Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ for holding an event for International Peace Day
I was delighted to join a panel at the church to discuss the role of women and peace in our society.
I spoke about that many roles that women play which are pivotal to society. Many women like myself often balance their family life with other responsibilities around work and public life etc. I also pointed out that having faith in (what ever your faith) can provide strong foundations and added strength to the ultimate goal, finding peace within your self. If you are peaceful within this echoes in the relationships you hold in your family, neighbourhood and society as a whole.
Women need to have representation across all forums, to raise concerns and put the views forward which often get missed.
It was an honour to be able to meet Christa Rennie the General Secretary of the Womens Federation for World Peace and listen to her experiences and thoughts too.
Thank you to the lovely Debbie Twigger for organising this. Great to see many women leaders in the church.
